BImA Commissions Apleona to Provide Hard Services in Bonn<\/h3>

In July, Apleona won an EU-wide tender from the German Federal Institute for Real Estate (BImA) to provide hard services for eight properties in Bonn.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The contract covers the UN Campus with the \u201cLanger Eugen\u201d building, the old assembly building, the Climate Tower, the Old Waterworks, the Carstanjen house, and others. It also encompasses an international daycare center and the old Bundestag building. Overall, the portfolio has a gross floor area of almost 110,000 m\u00b2.<\/p>\n

Standard operations will start in June 2023 for an initial five-year period, with an option for the client to extend for a further five years. The largest user of the various properties is the United Nations (UN). At present, over 1,000 employees from 25 organizations work on the UN Campus.<\/p>\n

The main focus of the contract is hard services including fault management, for which there is a 24\/7 on- call service. In addition, works or service contracts are available for optional special services, which currently include the installation of charging points for electric vehicles as well as flood protection services in the form of staff support in the event of a flood and maintenance of the flood barriers for the UN Campus, which is located on the banks of Rhine in Bonn. Apleona will be performing over 80% of the hard services itself.<\/p>\n

Analysis of energy consumption data, energy management, and CO2<\/sub>\u00a0reduction<\/strong><\/p>\n

Energy management services, performed by the technicians on site in tandem with the Apleona energy & sustainability competence center, are a key aspect for the client. Along with a comprehensive engineering analysis to devise technical and operational optimization suggestions, ongoing energy data management will be carried out by the company\u2019s own software Enerlutec.<\/p>\n

Enerlutec enables automatic metering, for instance via read-out from the building management system, as well as manual app-based metering, analysis of consumption, benchmarking, and rectification of disruptive factors, including extensive reporting for the customer. Based on this energy data analysis, Apleona enables a long-term increase in building operation efficiency, thus also delivering a sustainable reduction in CO2<\/sub>\u00a0levels.<\/p>\n

Completed in February 2022, the new building on the UN Campus with 330 workstations close to \u201cLanger Eugen\u201d qualifies as an \u201cenergy-efficient non-residential building in North Rhine-Westphalia\u201d. The tower, with an energy concept based on the Passive House Standard, was recently commended by the energy agency Energieagentur NRW on several grounds, including sustainability and low greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>
