Apleona expands its position as leading integrated facility manager through merger with Gegenbauer Group<\/h3>

Apleona, a European market leader in integrated facility management, based near Frankfurt am Main, today announced a merger agreement with Gegenbauer Group, one of the leading facility management providers in Germany.<\/p>\n

Headquartered in Berlin, Gegenbauer Group employs 18,000 people and generates average sales of EUR 900 million annually, split equally between hard and soft services.<\/p>\n

Following the merger, Apleona will become an integrated real estate services firm with more than 40,000 employees across Europe, generating annual sales of around EUR\u00a03.5\u00a0billion.<\/p>\n

The transaction will strengthen Apleona\u2019s position as an integrated facility management provider to industrial companies, financial institutions and institutional real estate investors, particularly in the field of soft services. The service portfolio will include the full range of technical, commercial and infrastructure services for commercial real estate in all asset classes.<\/p>\n

As part of the transaction, the former shareholders of the Gegenbauer Group will become shareholders in Apleona, while European private equity firm PAI Partners will remain Apleona\u2019s majority shareholder.<\/p>\n

The transaction is subject to approval from antitrust authorities and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2023. Once antitrust authorities have approved the merger, all assets will be transferred to the Apleona Group.
